Disk Space Usage

Disk Space Usage section of the Server Explorer is used to explore the amount of space occupied by databases, data and logs.

Use the context menu or buttons on the work area toolbar to manage the list of databases:

edit database properties

backup database

shrink database

create and print the report

Alternatively, you can use the 'Enter' button to edit database(s).

Click the Bottom Panel button to define what information should be displayed in the lower area of the window: Largest Databases or Files. This can be also done by clicking the corresponding buttons on the toolbar or by choosing the corresponding item of the bottom panel context menu.

The upper area displays the following information about disk space usage:

Database: Database Name, Database ID;

Data: Size (MB), Unallocated Space (MB), Auto Growth, Growth (MB/Month), Max Size (MB), Disk Free Space (MB), No Space Warned On;

Log: Disk Free Space (MB), Size (MB), Unused Space (MB), Auto Growth, Growth (MB/Month), Max Size (MB), Disk Free Space (MB), No Space Warned On.

To open a database in the Database Editor, double-click it in the grid. Alternatively, you can right-click the database alias and select the Database Properties... context menu item.

The lower area shows the information about the database files or about largest databases disk space usage. These diagrams are graphed on the basis of log size and data size.
