Working with servers
Before working with a server in SQL Administrator you need to register it. This is done by means of the Register Server dialog. To open this dialog:

select the Server |
Register Server main menu item;

use the Register Database toolbar button;

right-click within the Server Explorer and select the Register Server... context menu item.
Connecting to a Server
To connect to the selected server:
- choose the Server | Connect to <server_name> main menu item;
- select the Connect to <server_name> item of the server context menu;
- double-click the server alias in the Server Explorer.
Disconnecting from a Server
To disconnect from the selected server:
- choose the Server | Disconnect from <server_name> main menu item;
- select the Disconnect from <server_name> item of the server context menu;
Viewing Server Registration Properties
To view and configure server registration properties right-click the server alias in the Server Explorer and select the <server_name> Registration Properties... item of the context menu.
Servers can be grouped in the Server Explorer.
Unregistering a Server
To unregister a server:

choose the Server | Unregister server <server_name> main menu item;
-
right-click the server alias in the Server Explorer and select the Unregister server <server_name> context menu item.
