Database Management

DBISAM Manager provides all the tools you need to manage and navigate databases. Note that to start working with databases in DBISAM Manager you are to register them (see Register Database).

Add Database

To add a database to the server

Select the Database | Add Database menu item.

Set the database name, connection and authorization options in the Create Database Wizard.

Set option Register After Creating to call the Register Database Dialog after the creation finishes.

Delete Database

To delete a database from the server

Select the database to delete in the DB Explorer tree.

If you are not connected to the database, double-click its alias to establish connection.

Select the Database | Delete Database menu item.

Confirm deleting in the dialog window.

Register Database

To register a single database in DBISAM Manager

Select the Database | Register Database menu item.

Set connection, authorization and other options in the Register Database Dialog.

To register multiple databases on one host

Select the Database | Register Host menu item.

Set connection and authorization options, and select the databases to register in the Register Host Wizard.

Unregister Database

To unregister a single database

Select the database to unregister in the DB Explorer tree.

Select the Database | Unregister Database menu item.

Confirm unregistering in the dialog window.

To unregister all databases on the host

Select the host to unregister or a database on this host in the DB Explorer tree.

Select the Database | Unregister Host menu item.

Connect to Database

To connect to a database

Select the database to connect to in the DB Explorer tree.

Double click its alias.

or

2   Select the Database | Connect to Database menu item.

Disconnect from Database

To disconnect from a database

Select the database to disconnect from or any of its objects in the DB Explorer.

Select the Database | Disconnect from Database menu item.
