Compare server configurations
Compare Server Configurations Wizard allows you to save current server configuration which includes server information, server properties, global configuration settings, server principals, databases, databases principals and permissions. .Using this wizard you can also:
- compare saved and current configurations of a single server and then update the server on the basis of the saved configuration,
- compare current configurations of two different servers and then update one server on the basis of another server,
- compare saved configurations of two different servers,
- compare two saved configurations of a single server.
If a saved configuration is no longer needed you can delete it.
All saved configurations are stored in the database that is set as SQL Administrator Repository.
To run the wizard, select the Tools | 
Compare Configurations... main menu item or click the Compare Configurations... button on the toolbar.
The wizard consists of the following steps:
Saving configuration
Setting saving configuration options
Viewing save configuration information
Executing saving configuration operation
Comparing configurations
Specifying configurations for comparing
Setting comparing configurations options
Specifying destination file name
Deleting configuration
Selecting server for deleting configuration
Selecting configurations to delete
Viewing delele configuration information
Executing delete configuration operation
