Create Label/Branch/Tag

Tag, label and branch can be created with Create Tag Wizards.

Branch is an independent direction of database development. It is a copy of a repository part (single directory as a rule), which can be modified with no effect on other branches. Objects in different branches are identical before branching point and divergent after it.

Label is a branch where no changes are to be made. Physically it's a copy of marked files and directories state.

Tag is a special mark that indicates certain product release version. It is a marks for all files of the database repository within the certain version.

The wizard can be launched in the following ways:

  1. Select the Change Management | Create Branch/Label/Tag item of the host or database context menu and define parameters of the created object in the appeared wizard.
  2. Select the Tools | Change Management | Create Branch/Label/Tag item of the main menu and define parameters of the created object in the appeared wizard.
