Setting database


Use this step of the wizard to define a database to restore.

 

Restore Database Wizard - Setting database

 

 

New or existing database name

Enter a name for the new database or select the database to restore to from the drop-down list of all available databases on the specified host.

 

!CheckBox Overwrite any existing database

Check this option to restore to an existing database. Uncheck this option if you want to create a new database on the basis of a backup.

 

In case the !RadioButton Restore transaction log option was selected on the first step then on this step you are to select an existing database which transaction log should be restored on.

 

In case the !RadioButton Recovery only (without restoring) option has been selected on the first step then on this step you are to select among existing databases that are in the restoring state so as to make it ready for use by rolling back any uncommitted transactions.

 

In case the !RadioButton Restore from database snapshot option was selected on the first step then on this step you can view the database name that will be reverted from the specified snapshot.

 

Click the Next button to proceed to the Specifying point in time step of the wizard.
