FAQ

EMS Data Export for SQL Server is a powerful program to export your data quickly from Microsoft® SQL and MSDE databases to any of 20 available formats, including MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word (RTF), HTML, XML, PDF, TXT, CSV, DBF and others. Data Export for SQL Server includes a wizard, which allows you to set export options for each table visually (destination filename, exported fields, data formats, and much more) and a command line utility to export data from tables and queries in one-touch.

First of all you must have an opportunity to connect to some local or remote SQL Server. Besides you need your computer to satisfy the system requirements of EMS Data Export for SQL Server.

You can configure the template files for each table or export type visually using EMS Data Export for SQL Server Wizard. Set the required export options on Step 3 of the wizard and click the ‘Save Export Options‘ button . All the options will be saved to the template file, which can be used by the console application.

Data Export for SQL Server includes some additional features, which are not available in SQL Manager for SQL Server such as:

  • Export data from several tables at once;
  • Export data from tables selected from different databases on one host;
  • Command line utility to Export data using the configuration file with all the Export options.

This is a limitation of the trial version which exports only 20% of all records. With a registered version all the records are processed.
