Server properties

The Server Properties dialog allows you to view/edit a number of server options which can be changed to optimize Microsoft® SQL Server performance.

To open the dialog click Properties in the Tools ribbon. It is also available within the context menu of the Server Security Options area in the Security section.

All server properties are grouped in the following clusters:

• Memory
• Processor
• Parallelism
• Security
• Surface area configuration
• Connections
• Database options
• Full-text search
• Miscellaneous
• Network

On the dialog toolbar you can select what values should be displayed:

Shown values

Configured values determines that the configured values for options are displayed on this page. If you change these values, select Running Values to see whether the changes have taken effect. If they have not, the instance of SQL Server must be restarted first.
