What is EMS Data Export for MySQL utility?
A:
EMS Data Export for MySQL is a powerful program to export your data quickly from MySQL databases to any of 20 available formats, including MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word (RTF), HTML, XML, PDF, TXT, CSV, DBF and others. EMS Data Export for MySQL includes a wizard, which allows you to set export options for each table visually (destination filename, exported fields, data formats, and much more) and a command line utility to export data from tables and queries in one-touch.

What do I need to start working with EMS Data Export for MySQL?
A:
First of all you must have an opportunity to connect to some local or remote MySQL server. Besides you need your computer to satisfy the system requirements of EMS Data Export for MySQL.
Q:
What is the easiest way to configure the template files for the EMS Data Export for MySQL console application?
A:
You can configure the template files for each table or export type visually using the Data Export Wizard. Set the required export options on Step 3 of the wizard and click the ‘Save Export Options‘button. All the options will be saved to the template file, which can be used by the console application.
Q:
What is the difference between the Export function in EMS SQL Manager for MySQL tool and EMS Data Export for MySQL utility?
A:
EMS Data Export for MySQL includes some additional features, which are not available in EMS SQL Manager for MySQL such as:
  • Export data from several tables at once;
  • Export data from tables selected from different databases on one host;
  • Command line utility to Export data using the configuration file with all the Export options.
Q:
I‘ve downloaded a trial version of the EMS Data Export for MySQL, but not all records of the tables are exported. What’s the reason for this?
A:

This is a limitation of the trial version which exports only 20% of all records. With a registered version all the records are processed.

Q:
When I try to connect to a database, I get the following message: Access denied for user: user@host.domain Why does it happen?
A:
This error is generated by MySQL server because you don't have privileges to connect to the server from your host. Please contact your database administrator to resolve this problem.
