Restore a database from a backup

Use the Restore Database Wizard to restore a database from a backup. To launch the wizard and set restore options choose the Services | iconServices_RestoreDatabase Restore Database main menu item.

  1. On the first step select the preferable restore mode:
  • Restore to an existing database
  • Restore to a new database
  • Restore history file only
  1. On the second step select table spaces to restore or choose to restore the whole database and define whether you want to perform a redirected restoring by checking the CheckBox Redirect containers option.
  2. If you are restoring to a new database then on the third step set target database options.
  3. On the next step choose a backup image from which you want to restore a database.
  4. If the CheckBox Redirect containers option was checked on the second step then define new paths for containers on the fifth step.
  5. On the next step set restore options: buffer option and final state. Here you can also specify whether you want to perform an online restore operation. This means that other agents can connect to the database while the backup image is being restored, and that the data in other table spaces will be available while the specified table spaces are being restored.
