Changing Metadata window


SQL Manager 2005 for InterBase/Firebird changing metadata window is performed to trace the errors and edit SQL statements during their compilation.

The compilation window appears any time the metadata is changed, both when the compilation is successful and when there were errors in compilation. If you want this window to appear only in case of error, choose Options | Environment Options and uncheck option Confirm metadata changing (default checked) on the Confirmations page.

Note: you can uncheck the statements that you don't need to perform.

Compile SQL
This area displays an SQL statement, executed to perform metadata changing. In this area you can view and edit SQL statement. In case of error in compilation the Error area also becomes visible, here you can view the compilation error description.

Rollback
This button allows you to return to the previous stage (editor window or DB Explorer).

Rollback and Recompile
This button calls for recompilation with the changes you made in the Complie SQL area.

Commit
This button fixes the SQL statement. Click it to commit the current transaction. This button is available only if there were no errors in compilation.

Copy information to clipboard
Copies to clipboard the statement which caused metadata update to stop; the corresponding statement is highlighted red on the Statement tab.
