Connection properties
Edit the connection properties in the corresponding boxes: user name, password an role. Also you can edit database alias - an optional name to display the database in the explorer tree and all the program tools.
User name
User name for connecting to the database server.
Password
Password for connecting to the server.
Role
Specify the role that you adopt on connection to the database. You must have previously been granted membership in the role to gain the privileges of that role.
Database name
Type in the the database name to register or press the Browse button and choose it from the drop-down list .
Database alias
Any database alias that is convenient for you (e.g. IB Database or My Test Database). This alias will be displayed in the DB Explorer window.
Charset
Specify an active character set to use for subsequent database attachments.
Get Default button chooses the default charset which was set on creation of database.
Font charset
Character set to display data in the grid.
The Test Connect button allows you to check whether you are connected to the database at the moment.
The Copy Alias from... drop-down button allows you to copy alias from any of registered databases. You may also edit the alias if needed.
