Setting registration options

Enter the database name and set the database alias and other options. Click the Finish button when done.

Database name
Select the database name to register from the drop-down list.

Database Alias
Any database alias that is convenient for you (e.g. Customers or My Test Database). This alias will be displayed in the DB Explorer window.

Charset
Specify an active character set to use for subsequent database attachments.

Get Default button chooses the default charset which was set on creation of database.

Test Connection button allows you to check whether you are connected to the database at the moment.

Font Characters Set
The character set for the visual IB Manager elements: data grids, editors etc.

Unicode compatible
Check this option to prevent converting data to Unicode charset by server.

Login prompt before connection
Enables SQL Manager 2005 for InterBase/Firebird to prompt for user name and password each time you connect to the database.

Autoconnect on startup
Check the option to set the automatic connection to the database on startup.

Create new tab for this database
Checking this option adds a new tab to the bar, making navigation easier.

The Logs tab allows you to specify log file names for metadata changes logging and SQL query logging, if necessary.
