Selecting destination database
Depending on the restore type you specified at the first step, this one provides different set of options.
Restore from full backup
Source file
Locate the backup file from which the restoration should be performed.
Restore into
Specify the database into which you want to restore one from the source file.
New database
Select this option to create a new database to restore the backup into.
You need to define the host on which new database will be located. You can specify an
Existing host which you can select from the drop-down list, or
New host which you have to register at the next step.
Existing database
Select this variant to restore the backup into the the existing database. You need to specify the database at the drop-down listc and User name and Password needed to access the database.
Enable the
Shutdown database before service start and the
Bring database online after service finished options if needed.
Execution mode
The group defines whether services or local utilities (FB) will be used to perform restore.
Restore mode
Select whether the database will be restored locally (available if the Execution mode is set to local utilities) or to the server.
Execution mode:
Use local utilities
Select this mode to restore a database via local utilities.
Use services
Select this mode to use server services for restore operation.
Store mode:
Local
Select this option to restore the database to the local machine. This mode is available only when you select Use local utilities as Execution mode.
Server
Select this mode to restore the database to the server.
Restore from incremental backup (Firebird only)
This restore type is only available for Firebird version 2.0 or higher.
You need to define the host on which the restored database will be located. You can specify an
Existing host which you can select from the drop-down list, or a
New host which you have to register at the next step.
File name
Specify database name and location at this field.
Select entry from backup history
Select the Source database from the drop-down list to get its backup history that will be displayed at the window below. Only local Firebird databases can be found in the drop-down list.
Backup history will be displayed as a table where you can find the backup file's level, name, location, date and time of its creation. You can also select and deselect needed items.
Note: Levels of the selected backups must form a continuous range with "0" and "n" as boundaries with step "1" (0,1,2,3..n-1,n).
Specify backup files manually
Select source files for Incremental restore manually. Use ![]()
buttons to add or remove levels. Define file the location and name of the appropriate file in the File name field. You can use the
Open dialog to ease the search process.
Note: If you delete an item from the list, all the following items will be deleted too.
Restore from Journal Archive (InterBase only)
This restore type is only available for InterBase 2007 or higher.
Database archive file name
Type in source file path and name or locate it using the
Open dialog. Source file extension should be '*.DATABASE'.
Specify User name and Password needed to access the backup file.
Restore into
Specify the database into which you want to restore one from the source file.
New database
Select this option to create a new database to restore the backup into.
You need to define the host on which new database will be located. You can specify an
Existing host which you can select from the drop-down list, or
New host which you have to register at the next step.
Existing database
Select this variant to restore the backup into the the existing InterBase 2007 database. You need to specify the database at the drop-down list. The existing database will be overwritten.
You can restrict the date and time to restore the database with changes done before this date and time. Enable the
Use until option and set the needed date and time by typing it manually or using the DateTime dialog.
Restore online dump (InterBase only)
This restore type is only available for InterBase 2007 or higher.
Online Dump source file
Specify online dump source file and its location at this field by manually typing it in or by using the
Open dialog.
Specify User name and Password to access the backup file.
Define the location of the database utilities at the Path to database utilities.
Rename result database file
If the option disabled, the database will be restored into the initial one. Enable this option to restore the backup into a new database. Its path and name you can define at the New database file name field.
If the
Register after restore option is checked, the Register Database Wizard will be launched as the restore process successfully completes.
